We had just moved into a beautiful and lush neighborhood, then the new home was sizable, with several rooms with multiple bathrooms.
The neighbors seemed particularly beautiful.
The first night our next-door neighbor brought us some delicious pies, and all the neighbors were particularly friendly to us, and the children also got along with the neighborhood children. The new home had a functional electric heat pump when we first moved in. The realtor mentioned that the system was six years old, and she also showed us a sheet indicating the oil furnace/heater repairs and HVAC maintenance the HVAC system had undergone over the last six years. A few weeks into the house, we noticed that the oil furnace could have been more efficient because of the new home size. The rooms upstairs regularly seemed to be slightly colder than the rest of the house. We sought advice from the HVAC company downtown for a wonderful heating and cooling system to meet our needs. With the extensive growth of heating technology, we would have a particularly efficient unit, the radiant floors. The old dial temperature control also had to go, so we upgraded to an intelligent regulator. The HVAC professional told us they would use the same HVAC device we had, the only difference was the mechanism they used to help with indoor comfort. That meant the whole exercise would cost much less than purchasing a new quality heating device! Furnace filter upgradement and heat pump maintenance would continue with their proper schedule. The HVAC repairman taught us more about heating so that we could manage simple air conditioner care. It was the first of the numerous adventures that we would have in our new home.
