The type of commercial HVAC in our office was just that sort of catalyst for the drop in morale in our beat down office. This was mainly because we had a supervisor who wasn’t able to read the office almost immediately. Our former supervisor was not a cheerful person and was always putting us down. That sort of vibration did spread across the entire office. Folks were becoming defensive and we had so much attitude instead of finally working as a team. The office was even divided when it came to the thermostat setting. To make matters worse, we had a single thermostat for our whole floor. That’s more than 60 people having to see eye to eye on a single thermostat setting. A proper supervisor would have recognized this early and picked an average temperature and stuck to it. But our horrible supervisor focused only on the negative. There are even moments when there were heated fights and folks almost coming to blows over the thermostat setting. Thankfully, with our new supervisor, the variations have come fast and it’s like a current day. She wasn’t even here a month before she changed the entire commercial Heating & Air Conditioning situation. She had the Heating & Air Conditioning crew come in and completely update the commercial Heating & Air Conditioning in our office. All of us now have zone controlled Heating & Air Conditioning. That way, we can group our desks together by setting the thermostat setting. Therefore, those of us who need lots of Heating & Air Conditioning cooling in the summertime can group together. And those who need lots of Heating & Air Conditioning heating in the Winter season have their own thermostat. Morale is high and we all love the new conditions at the office.
