Not only would the ductless heat pump provide all the air conditioning and supplementary heating we’d need
It was sort of a stunner when my wife started talking about adding some residential HVAC to our situation. I was puzzled because I wasn’t sure she knew where she was. Just three years ago my wife and I got married. But I have been living off the grid for more than two decades. This was sort of a passion of mine and just felt natural to me so I pursued it. That’s why I was sort of shocked when my wife started talking about air conditioning. There’s no doubt that we have an abundance of heating. My cabin is solid and came with a very serious wood stove that I had custom made when I built this place. There are times when it would be nice to have an alternative heating method when the fire goes out or when we are away. I’d like to come home to have that HVAC heating on until I could get the wood stove fired up. These were the points she made when she started talking about the air conditioning as well. I agree that there are months where the fans just aren’t quite enough when it comes to cooling. This led us to meet with HVAC professionals to see what we could do. The ductless heat pump was the immediate suggestion. Not only would the ductless heat pump provide all the air conditioning and supplementary heating we’d need. We could totally run it off the solar array that powers the other things in our house without any problem. So I’m sure I love having the ductless heat pump in the cabin these days on so many levels.
