After only five years, I needed a deck replacement.

It had only been five years since my deck had been installed, and I already needed a deck replacement.

The wood was rotting, and many of the deck screws were missing.

When I called the people who had originally installed the deck, I found out they were no longer in business. I had to find another company who could do a deck replacement for me. My brother told me about the company he used when he had his deck replacement done after buying his house. The deck was beautiful, and it had synthetic flooring that was said to withstand any natural disaster, except a tornado. It could tear the deck apart, but it wouldn’t destroy the decking itself. I laughed, but he was serious. He gave me an estimate for tearing out the old deck, removing the rubble, and installing the new deck. I cringed at the price, but I knew it had to be done. Two weeks later, the man who was going to do the deck replacement called. The first thing I thought was that he would not do the work, but I was wrong. He wanted to know if it would be an imposition if he and his crew came over the weekend and did the job. His wife had planned a vacation, and he forgot all about it. If he couldn’t do the work over the weekend, they would put it off for two weeks. I had no plans, and he gave me 20% off the deck replacement cost. He gave me a deal that I couldn’t refuse.
