One For All Air Conditioning

It’s funny that I mention it here in this article about selling my heater when you probably won’t read this till it is already sold.

Well, I have an old space heater that my dad would use to keep warm while he was down in his office working.

It is one of those heaters which has the coils that turn red when it is warming up. And you can smell the burning smell of the coils as it heats up, which is kind of nostalgic for me because I used to sit in front of it when I was a kid so long ago. We had a fireplace up in the living room that we would use often because there was no central heating in the house at the time. I had to haul the wood in when I was little and I was so weak that I could only carry one piece of wood at a time up the stairs to the living room. It would take me half an hour to bring up the twenty pieces needed to warm the house for the evening. It was great exercise, so much more than how it is now with the electric heating and smart thermostats. I am happy to have such a convenient HVAC system nowadays because I am older and I don’t think my back would do so well with hauling up all of that wood each day. My dad is gone now but his space heater lives on if anyone wants a piece of old American HVAC engineering.

I got a round-trip ticket from Europe to the USA for $440 a month or so ago. I wanted to change my return flight and they said that it is non-changeable, so I had to buy a ticket back and it is costing me $850. It seems entirely odd that it costs so much but maybe it is because the warm season is coming and all the people want to fly anywhere. I believe I will have to do some more HVAC repairs while I am here for extra cash to cover the difference. I also had to rent a vehicle for another month and the kind man at the rental agency charged me an extra $250 more than I paid for the first month, thanks a lot my friend. I was going to charge the A/C in the rental vehicle with my own cash. Now I’ve changed my mind. I don’t like it when people are sneaky like this with taking your cash, he told me it wouldn’t be any more for the second month but he lied. I am a certified HVAC specialist so I can pretty much work on any type of HVAC system to make some cash while I am here in the states on a trip. I don’t mind doing the task and when I have a lot of extra bills like I have now it helps a lot with not having to dip into my savings for the extended time here. I know I’ll call some friends to see if anyone needs some HVAC servicing.

I don’t like it when people are sneaky like this with taking your money, he told me it wouldn’t be any more for the second month although he lied. This is why I moved overseas in the first place, because the weather here in the south in the summer season is just too hot for too long and it just makes me guess love not doing anything.

I am here in the states for another multiple weeks or so and then I am off to go back to our flat on the southern Spanish coast in a small town.

I am going to clean mom’s heating and A/C plan before I go so she has nice freezing air to keep her cool as she is getting up there in years and I don’t want her to have to worry about staying cool. She is up north right now visiting family so this is a good time to disinfect the unit since I will have to turn it off for a while to disinfect all of the ductwork. I have been working on heating and A/C systems for quite some time now and love to help our family with their systems whenever they need a helping hand. I don’t need to run our AC much overseas because we have mild weather in the summer season and usually I am great with just opening the windows during the day. At night I usually run our window A/C in our bedroom because the humidity is quite high and it doesn’t cool down much in the afternoons for sleeping. I need to clean our HEPA filter when I get back because our unit will have been running for two weeks without being taken care of or cleaned. It should be great though.
