I wish I could be better about controlling our emotions sometimes.
- Yet, I tend to get pretty defensive when I perceive disrespect when it deals with me or the family.
Apparently, this goes for my family home & our Heating & A/C components as well. It took us a long time, but our wife & I decided it was best to put the family house on sale. The local real estate market was just on fire & we couldn’t pass it up, considering that we had been discussing selling the place for a couple of years, this seems to be just the right time. The two of us called the realtor that was suggested to us to come out & list our place. She barely even said hello before she started ripping into our place. As I said, I can be a bit sensitive do any sort of attack or insult on anything I love. And I easily got very upset the longer she critiqued are home. And when she got to a Heating & A/C equipment I pushed back against her. As long as I have had this Heating & A/C equipment, I invested in plenty of Heating & A/C maintenance each year. The residential Heating & A/C wasn’t even 15 years old at the time. So there was plenty of juice left. I got absolutely pretty upset at the suggestion that we had to replace the Heating & A/C unit. And that pretty much ended her visit. The next time she returned she was much more respectful & she brought along data from recent comps in our section that proved her point. See also informed me of a program with the local Heating & A/C biz that would recycle our Heating & A/C equipment. It would go to people or local organizations that needed better Heating & A/C equipment but couldn’t afford it.
