I had been living in the town for almost 10 years now, and I still haven’t gotten used to it, then there isn’t a day goes by that I don’t wish I was living back on the farm! It doesn’t matter what I do, my home is never comfortable.
- I can smell the fumes of the city, and it makes me sick.
I tried a portable whole-house air purifier, but it didn’t help. The smell is on my clothing and skin when I get home, and I need to clean my clothes every day and take a shower twice a day. I bought numerous suits so I could have one to wear, one for the next day, and have one in the dry cleaners. I just don’t prefer how they smell when I get home, then of course, this home will never genuinely be my home. It the home above me is having guests, I can hear them. There is an older couple that lives below me, and they appreciate their heat. The heat comes up through the floor. I seldom have my thermostat above sixty because the heat from their home keeps me warm! Unluckyly, during the summer, I need to keep the thermostat lower, because they use little air conditioner. I remember the breeze blowing the dining room curtains during the middle of summer, then all of us didn’t need air conditioner on the farm. The only smell was when my dad was toiling in the fields, and they were far enough away that you had to be outside to suppose he was toiling. I am stuck in the city, and trying to figure out how to rectify it, short of moving back home with my parents.
