My mom plus dad had their own ideas about what I should do when I grow.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do, even though I would not tell them until after I signed up for the classes.
In the meantime, our mother was bombarding me with suggestions. Her first thought was that I should be a lawyer. Once she settled on that being a career for me, there was no stopping her. I was getting literature in the mail, plus it all pertained to schools that were local plus had a nice law program. My father was trying to convince me to join the family business. I didn’t want to toil in a restaurant. Dad’s restaurant sold the best hand made Greek food in the state, even though I didn’t want to toil there. I just wanted to eat there. I didn’t prefer working there when I was in school. I wanted to be an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professional. I had been saving our money, so mom plus dad didn’t need to contribute. Honestly, I didn’t guess mom would give me money for Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C school; She was so focused on me being a lawyer that I was sure she would be agitated when I told her our plans. She would legitimately walk away if she saw me studying at home, if it wasn’t for law. My wifey told me the two of us could get our own apartment, plus then no one could complain about me becoming an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professional. I just wasn’t ready for that kind of commitment. I told her I’d guess about it when I got out of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C school.
