A whole-apartment humidifier improves comfort and air quality

Living in a cold weather area makes our family heavily reliant on the oil furnace, then the two of us run the oil furnace approximately eight weeks per year.

The outdoor temperature is typically below freezing and often dips into the downside digits, and cold air doesn’t retain as much moistures as boiling air.

The conditions tend to be extra dry, then inside the house, with the vents supplying a steady stream of warm air, the lack of humidity becomes a problem, but static shock, chapped lips and frizzy hair are consequences of overly dry air. There’s the potential for destruction to hardwood floors, doors and moldings due to the wood drying out and cracking, but headaches, insomnia, sneezing, coughing, congestion and frustrated symptoms of asthma and allergies can be blamed on a lack of humidity. It can exacerbate complications with psoriasis and eczema. I purchased a few portable humidifiers, however they were a lot of work for certainly little reward. The answer was a whole-apartment humidifier installed into the oil furnace. It works to introduce moisture into the air as it passes through. I chose a steam-style humidifier that works by converting moisture into steam, creating a certainly healthy and natural moisture! Because of the humidifier, I’ve been able to lower the thermostat setting by more than 2 degrees. The home feels far more comfortable and yet the oil furnace doesn’t need to work as hard. I’m also saving quite a bit of currency on our bi-weekly energy bills. I hope that reducing wear and tear on the heating program will help it to be more reliable and last longer. The two of us are enjoying healthier indoor air pollen levels.
