My beach house is large plus outdated with high ceilings plus large windows.
The two of us are gradually making beach house improvements but the projects are extravagant plus time-consuming.
The two of us are working on replacing windows, installing a modern roof plus adding insulation, despite having a forced air gas furnace, particular rooms are drafty plus often cold. There are simply not enough vents to handle the demand of the local winters. The temperatures below zero plus brutal wind chill are a large challenge for more than half the year. The family room in the beach house is especially cold… At 1 point, we invested into a pellet stove that was a disaster. It required constant refilling plus re-lighting. It was messy, ugly plus took up quite a bit of space. I was particularly unhappy with it. The two of us eventually replaced the pellet stove with a ventless gas heater. The ventless gas furnace was a single stage model that could only operate at maximum capacity. It would blast heated air until it brought the temperature of the room up to the temperature control setting plus then shut off completely, creating unpleasant temperature swings. The device was seriously sensitive to the slightest buildup of dust. A red warning light would start bconnecting plus the furnace would no longer shut down. It would pump out tepid air non stop, making me upset about it overheating plus becoming a safety risk, then just recently, I finally invested into a ductless mini-split. The indoor air handler is mounted up high on the wall, unobtrusive plus quiet. It features inverter technology that allows the plan to automatically adapt output to maintain a particularly consistent temperature. The ductless heat pump provides especially energy efficient heating plus cooling. It keeps the family room perfectly comfortably year round.
