Movie theaters are too cold for me

It’s just as well that movie theaters aren’t as popular as they once were.

I don’t know if it’s the particular movie theaters in my area, but in my personal experience, it always seems to be far too cold within the movie theater itself.

I get that there’s a reason that they call them summer blockbusters. In fact, I am aware of the historical nature of movie theaters. Movies were called summer blockbusters, not just because great movies had a tendency to come out in the summer, but because summer releases became desirable for movie companies because people would often visit the movie theater in the summer to escape the heat. You see, movie theaters were among the first commercial buildings, or any buildings for that matter, to get central air conditioning. Thus, it used to be a real draw for people to come in from the heat and enjoy the nice and cool breezy air conditioner while they also enjoyed a good movie. However, my local movie theaters just seem to take that to an unnecessary extreme. I’m always so cold in the movie theater. I always know that if I happen to go to a movie with friends or family, I’m going to need to bring an extra layer or two. Obviously, this is a hassle in the summer, because it actually gets quite hot around here. I just end up needing to tie a hoodie around my waist until I get into the movie theater. Now however, my husband and I have a tendency to stay in the comfort of our own perfectly climate controlled home while we enjoy a movie. I’m missing nothing as far as I’m concerned!
