I love getting new and improved equipment and technology for my house.
My most recent refrigerator has smart controls that interface with my smart home devices throughout.
There’s a voice control portal that communicates with my smartphones, smart thermostat, smart air purifiers, smart TVs, and smart stereo. The last time my brother visited me at my house, he laughed at all of the “ridiculous gadgets” that I have “loitered around my house.” I guess he’s right on the one hand, because at this point am I going to have a smart toilet as well? When I step back and think about it for a second, it does seem a little overwhelming with all of these various smart devices. It also begs the question of whether or not a smart version of each device is even beneficial when compared to a non-smart version. On the one hand, there are other upgrades I made to the house that have an immediate sense of practicality to them. The one that comes to mind is the new ductwork I had designed and installed by a great ventilation company. They used sheet metal to replace the old and grungy plastic ductwork that was in here before. On top of that, they had air returns to all of the rooms and large closets throughout the house. That way the air in every portion of the house is equally ventilation on the intake and on the outtake. It’s an upgrade to my house that I’m proud about, especially when I compare it to the old ventilation system.
