I’m employed at a warehouse where I have to unload heavy construction materials from trucks when it’s my shift.
It is seriously arduous labor that works just about every muscle in your body and tires me out every afternoon without fail. The money is quite good, and I manage to stay fit without any additional exercise, which is really not surprising to hear. I honestly appreciate the fact that my work week is only 4 days out of the week, though it is a 12-hour shift for each of those days. My last afternoon of work is Thursday, and I do not have to return until Monday. For those 4 days, I rarely have the strength to do anything more than come home, take a shower, prepare a hasty meal, and collapse in bed. I might be able to watch a show on a streaming service before my eyes close and I pass out. If there’s one thing that I’ve come to appreciate dearly when I get home from work, it’s my air conditioner. I make sure that my A/C is diagnosed well, because I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like to come to the beach home after a long, hot afternoon at work to a home that has no air conditioning. While at work, we do not have the benefit of an effective air conditioner outside the warehome or even inside the warehouse, so we have to improvise. I put wet towels in the freezer of the breakroom, for example, then I take them out plus put them around my neck periodically. It’s quite the relief. I also have to wear a lot of anti chafing powder. That stuff is like gold around here. Anyway, that is why I’m so thrilled that I get to go to the beach home to an air conditioned house.
