It’s ironic that now when I once struggled to get any comfort from my home’s heating and cooling, I find myself enjoying it so much.
Because I’m the only guy in the house, this is what happened.
Furthermore, it seems that the internal thermostats of every woman I share a home with are very different from mine. I suppose that I simply have a much hotter metabolism than the rest of my family. In order to reduce my heating expenses during this time of year, I constantly try to lower the thermostat setting a little. However, the rest of the family sure does complain about it, man. In the winter, I mean, they can all tell when I raise the temperature even a degree. Or I’ll hear someone yell that the gas furnace will shut off the moment I lower the thermostat setting. But now that I have my own HVAC equipment, everything is different. No, I don’t live alone anymore, but after all these years, I do have a place of my own. I believe the pandemic taught me that my father needs his own space if I’m going to live to see the girls off to college. So for a few months, my friend and I worked on finishing the basement’s conversion. In addition to other amenities, this area now has walls, a door, a big-screen TV, and a ductless heat pump. Actually, it’s a pretty cool place to hang out in the lounge. And since I have a ductless heat pump of my own, I can get all the high-quality heating and air I need at my convenience.
