We were able to get 27 years out of the previous heat pump, which is incredible. Given that it wasn’t exactly the best heating and cooling technology, that is even more astounding. We were newly married and just starting a family when we purchased this home. The key was unquestionably leaving our apartment. We desired to raise our son or daughter in a house. We weren’t exactly making six figure salaries, but we were still in the early stages of our careers. Putting together the down payment alone required all of our savings. On items like the HVAC system or the kitchen appliances, the seller was unwilling to compromise. As a result, we were able to slightly reduce the price, which was nice. We simply hoped that the HVAC system would continue to function for as long as possible. We managed to get about two years out of it. We had to settle for a less expensive HVAC unit when it broke down. But after it was installed by the HVAC specialists, we did make sure that it received seasonal HVAC maintenance every year. I have to admit that the HVAC upkeep definitely served its purpose. Maybe 17 to 20 years was the maximum lifespan we anticipated for that heat pump. And it lasted 27 years before we had to swap it out for the newest residential HVAC system. However, timing-wise, that has also sort of worked out. Our smallest child has graduated from college and is living independently. Therefore, all of our children are doing well, and the possibility of selling the family home exists. We greatly increased the value of our home by installing the best HVAC technology and the most recent in residential HVAC.
