When I got hired as a receptionist for an Heating & A/C company, I wasn’t positive what the acronym stood for. I knew very little about heating & cooling services. I’ve now worked for the same company for nearly ten years. I’ve become very knowledgeable in heaters, boilers, heat pumps, air conditionings, ductless mini-splits, high-velocity units & VRFs. I can explain the different indoor air quality accessories, such as germicidal UV lights, air purification systems, humidifiers & dehumidifiers. I answer the cellphones & schedule new system replacements, updatements, tune-ups & repairs. I also call clients who have enrolled in our repair plan to remind them when it’s time for seasonal service. I handle warranty requirements, inventory, dispatching the trucks for emergency repairs & make sure our professionals keep up with licensing, insurance, certifications & factory training updates! Because of my task, I’ve become much more conscientious about taking fantastic care of my furnace & air conditioning. I never forget to update the air filters & consistently make a point to arrange for upkeep in the fall & Spring! The heating & cooling system installed at the office is not treated as well, and unluckyly, the professionals are officially too tied up to supply a tune-up. The device is absolutely showing signs of neglect. I’ve observed a steady increase in utility bills even while comfort & air quality decline. The device has begun to make a weird noise & struggles to keep up with demand on especially frigid or tepid days. I expect that the system will eventually fail, & I’ll need to insist that one of the professionals take the time to supply a repair.
