I’ve never been a fan of winter.
- And I’m not even particularly from around here.
Where I grew up, there was some winter weather but it was nothing like what I experience these afternoons. My parents had a fantastic home that I was lucky enough to grow up in. Our heating method was a wood stove primarily! However, that’s because my dad number one it and my pal and I lived on a lot of acreage with plenty of available firewood. But my pal and I also had a heat pump that gave heating on the afternoons that weren’t all that cold. And our neighbors all had heat pumps as well. It could get cold but nothing like what I’m dealing with now, and yet this year, my pal and I are doing so much better thanks to me finally tracking down a heating thief. Since we’ve been up here and in this house, I’ve not been completely committed to winter prep on the house. Of course, each fall I call the Heating as well as A/C supplier to set the appointment for the heating repair. That’s something that I’ve always done as it just makes nice sense. But as far as the home was nervous, I was sort of hit and miss. But this year, I particularly took winter preparation on the home a lot more seriously. I even went so far as to get a thermal gun in order to find the source of a big heating leak in our home. This instant learn temperature gun allowed me to see just where the heat was pouring out of the house. I was surprised to find so multiple small leaks. But I finally found the particularly big one and was able to seal that up for good. Having a tighter home has made the winter in our home so much more comfortable.
