Ductless Mini Split Units to Heat and Cool Basement

I’ve been enjoying my recently renovated basement.

Originally, it was all cement and cinder block so it was used as a big storage space.

It was nice having the abundance of storage, but I really wanted the extra living space instead. This is why I contacted a contractor about finishing the basement. I wanted drywall, carpet, and a ductless mini split system to keep the basement heated and cooled during the whole year. My parents had a finished basement that they never used because they didn’t install any source of heat or air. This seemed like a waste of space and a waste of money, so I vowed that I wouldn’t make the same mistake. I didn’t want to connect my existing HVAC system because it was expensive and it didn’t seem efficient, so I decided on the ductless mini split systems. I would have two units that kept my basement warm or cool depending on the season. This was the best option for me because it was efficient and easy to use. Ductless mini split systems could provide heat and air without using ductwork. Instead, they ran off of electricity. There were small remotes designated to each unit and they could heat and cool spaces with ease. The two mini split units would be more than enough to cover the finished basement space and it was well worth the money. I’m glad I installed the ductless mini split units because I use my basement regularly. The basement is temperature controlled all year long.
