With the pandemic shutting everything down several years ago, losing family members, and trying to keep up with my career while working from home, I feel like I haven’t had a proper moment to catch my breath.
Despite being home all day every day, I felt my daily responsibilities slipping through the cracks. I couldn’t separate work from home and I lost control of my house. What started as a tiny office in my dining room ended up spreading into the living room and kitchen and before long, I had work stuff in my bedroom. My house was my office and I had a hard time completing my chores. One of the first things to crumble was my HVAC system. I had neglected to have an HVAC professional come service the equipment for over a year, which caused my air quality to decrease dramatically. It wasn’t until my air conditioner stopped working entirely that I was forced to contact an HVAC professional to look things over. The HVAC professional was disappointed that I waited so long to have my HVAC system looked at, but he understood my frustration. He recommended that I join their annual HVAC club because it would make things easier for me. The HVAC company would come service my HVAC system twice per year and I’d receive priority scheduling. There were other benefits too, but I loved the idea of surrendering control over my HVAC system. I couldn’t keep up with it on my own, so the HVAC company would help me.
