I did not think honestly well on Monday and I tried to call my boss to tell her that I was too sick to come to work.
- She reminded me that I called in sick last week.
I was playing hooky then. I went to the beach with some friends. It’s really where I picked up the bug that was making me think so awful. I told my boss that I was entirely sick and she told me to come into labor anyways. I got dressed and put on a uniform and went to work. The boss stuck me at the counter. I sneezed and coughed a bunch that morning. She finally believed that I was sick when I threw up at lunch time. She had me kneeling under the A/C air vent the whole time I was at the register. The A/C air vent was blowing cold air on me and it was making me think even worse. I wanted to leave and go home, but my boss made me labor until 8:00 p.m. when someone else came to labor to relieve me. The next day I did not go to work. I called my boss and when she answered I did not give her any opening to say no. After being stuck under the air vent all day, I felt even worse than I did before I went to work. There was entirely no way that I was going to subject myself to the indoor air conditions again just to satisfy my boss. I didn’t think she could fire me, so I stayed beach condo to recuperate and get better.
