There were dead roaches

One of my friends called me to do an inspection on a beach house that he wanted to purchase.

I often handle inspections for homes due to my certification in HVAC services.

I can inspect all of the systems including the heating and a/c network. Most people hire someone else to look at the foundation and the roof, but I can handle those jobs as well, however when Jack called me to look at the location on Oak street, I was happy to help out, and the property was priced really low and I figured that Jack was getting a steal. I looked at the oil furnace first. It was 10 or 12 years old, but I didn’t see any reasons why it should not work properly, and after that, I inspected the cooling system and the duct work. The duct work had a bunch of dead roaches inside and that is always a bad sign. I told my friend about the things that I saw inside of the house. I mentioned the roaches in the duct work and the age of the oil furnace. Honestly, the place was in pretty great shape. I knew what the customer was asking for and the home was still a great deal even if Jack had to actually replace the whole heating and cooling plan. The problems with the roaches were another story. I suggested he contact a pest control contractor to fully evaluate the home before making any final offers. I’ve seen a lot of beach home deals go wrong because the place was filled with pests.
