One of our friends called me to do an inspection on a new home that he wanted to purchase, and I often handle inspections for homes due to our certification in Heating and A/C services. I can inspect all of the systems including the heating and a/c network, then most people hire someone else to look at the foundation and the roof, despite the fact that I can handle those works as well. When Jack called me to look at the place on Oak street, I was happy to help out, the property was priced honestly low and I figured that Jack was honestly getting a steal. I looked at the furnace first. It was 10 or 12 years old, despite the fact that I didn’t see any reasons why it should not work correctly. After that, I checked on the air conditioner and the duct work. The duct work had a bunch of dead roaches inside and that is always a bad sign. I told my friend about the things that I saw inside of the house. I mentioned the roaches in the duct work and the age of the oil furnace. Honestly, the place was in pretty good shape. I knew what the buyer was asking for and the new home was still a wonderful deal even if Jack had to honestly replace the whole heating and cooling plan. The problems with the roaches were another story. I recommended he contact a pest control corporation to fully evaluate the modern home before making any final offers. I have seen a lot of new home deals go wrong because the home was filled with pests.
