As the summer closes in, it’s important to make sure your AC is in good working order.
A well-maintained AC unit will not only keep your home cool and comfortable during the hottest months, but it will also help to improve air quality and reduce energy consumption.
So to make things a bit easier for you we are going to give you a few tips for prepping your AC for summer. Schedule a tune-up with an HVAC pro or contact an HVAC company and speak to an HVAC rep about what you want to do. This will ensure that your AC unit is operating at peak efficiency. Check your thermostat. During the summer, you’ll want to set it to around 78 degrees. If you have a heat pump, be sure to set it to “cooling” mode. Inspect your AC unit. Make sure there are no leaves or other debris blocking the coils or fan. Also, check for any signs of wear and tear. If you notice any problems, be sure to call an HVAC pro right away. Change your AC filter or clean the filter if it is a washable type filter. A clean filter will help to improve air flow and keep dust and allergens out of your home. If you have a normal throwaway filter switch to a HEPA washable type filter which will filter out more allergens and things that pass through the normal kind of filters. By following these simple tips, you can help keep your AC unit running smoothly all summer long. Good luck and we wish you the best in staying cool this summer.
