The other day, I kept asking everybody in the house if they were feeling cold.
I mean, earlier in the day, the temperature wasn’t so bad.
We actually had a nice sunny day until we got into the afternoon hours. By that time, it was starting to rain and the temperatures were dropping quickly after that. I didn’t even have the HVAC system running because it was such a nice day after having a bunch of cold days. Well, even though everybody told me the temperature was just fine, I still went to the thermostat to turn the heating system on. Feeling the additional warmth from the heating system felt nice. I didn’t want to crank the temperatures too high, because I didn’t want an expensive energy bill just because I was using the heating system. Well, the temperatures continued to drop and my wife actually asked me why I turned the heating system on in the first place. I gave her an incredulous look. I asked her if she had any idea how cold it was outside. The temperature outside was already in the 40s, even though it was in the 70s earlier in the day before the rain was coming down. She didn’t believe me until she went to take the dog for a walk. She said she had to get the umbrella, and the dog didn’t even want to stay out for very long because it was so chilly out there. She finally admitted that it was a good idea to turn the heating system on afterall, or we would have been freezing in the house.
