Recently, my wife decided to volunteer for the school.
She wanted to help our daughter out in her math class and she was also invited to represent the head start program at the school for children who suffered from delays.
I really must say, I’m proud of her for doing her part to help out the community. I remember her telling me about her orientation which was interesting. She said all the people were very polite, kind, and knowledgeable. The only issue was that for some reason, the heating system was on the fritz. She said that the heater was cranked and she asked everybody if they felt like it was too hot in the building. Everybody agreed that the heater was way too high. Somebody apparently called the HVAC specialist, but he couldn’t make it out to the school until later in the day. They were at least able to turn on a couple of fans while she was at the orientation meeting, but she told me that she couldn’t wait to get out of that building. She says that likely, the issue with the heating system wouldn’t last for very long, but she was so happy when she got outside where the cool temperatures made her feel comfortable. She didn’t even turn the heating system on in the car when she drove back home. She says she looks forward to the meetings in the future because they get to vote on the important issues going on at the school. It sounds quite exciting. I just hope they don’t have any HVAC issues down the road, perhaps they can vote on getting an updated HVAC soon or at least preventative maintenance.
