When I went to visit my sister recently, I grimaced when I walked into her home.
She had the heating system cranked up to very high temperatures.
I mean, sure it was cold outside, but I just went from cold weather to an incredibly overheated environment. I felt like I was sweating within minutes and I asked my sister if she could adjust the temperature control settings. She looked at me and laughed. She said it was way too cold and she didn’t want to have to cover up with a blanket. So basically, during the visit, I had to suffer. When I looked at the thermostat, she yelled at me saying that I better not mess with the temperature control settings. I just looked at the thermostat and saw she had it set to 85 degrees! I mean, who wants such a high temperature in their home, seriously! I kept trying to convince her that it was too hot and she was wasting money. I told her that her energy bills were going to be through the roof, but this didn’t budge her, not even a little bit. She said if I was feeling too overheated, I was welcome to take a cold shower or I could always put a wet towel over my head. Surprisingly, that was a good idea and so I was hanging out with a cold towel over my head the whole visit pretty much. She would laugh at me from time to time, but I didn’t care because at least it made me feel more comfortable.
