I woke up in the morning and something did not feel right in my mouth.
I thought that I spent the night grinding my teeth.
Sometimes I do that when I have nervousness or anxiety. The whole side of my face hurt and I had a little bit of an earache. I decided to take a couple of Tylenol before I went to work. My mouth started to feel better and I forgot about the toothache until after lunch. I was eating some fried chicken and I felt an ache in my tooth. When I drank some soda pop, the ache in my tooth was even worse. I knew at that moment that the problem was never grinding my teeth. I probably had a cavity. I had to make an appointment with the dentist office near me. There are lots of dental offices near me, but there are only a couple of places that take my insurance. I already have a family dentistry practice that I regularly use. I called the receptionist and made an appointment. When I told her that I was experiencing pain and difficulty eating, she gave me the earliest appointment which was the next day at 2:00 p.m. She also told me to call if I was in terrible pain, because she could give me the name of an emergency dental office in the nearby city. They did not take insurance, but in an emergency, they would be able to help out. I was able to wait until the next day at 2:00 p.m. when I found out that I had a serious cavity that needed to be drilled and filled.
