The locale was a fixer-upper, & we knew that going in, when you inherit a house, & a piece of land, you can’t look that gift horse in the mouth, and this was a free house, one much larger & nicer than the small house where we had been living; It came with a lot of work, though, repairs & renovations that were long overdue. Whoever the previous owners were had been unquestionably odd people, & the more we settled in the more surprises we found hidden in the depths of the house. The first floor seemed normal enough, & although the face of the control machine was blank, it just needed batteries, however after the batteries were upgraded, we were cheerful to find that the central HVAC idea turned on, albeit a little slowly. I set it to the heating mode, & then held our hand in front of an air vent to see the strength & the temperature of the air flow. I felt nothing come out of the vent, so I switched the control machine over to cooling mode & repeated the process. The idea seemed to be working, & yet nothing came out of the air vents! My hubby took the grating off of the main intake air vent for the house, & we found that the air duct was clogged full of outdated magazines. I right away felt so dirty, because there were thoUnited Statesnds of old, damp, moldy porno mags clogged into the air duct of this site! To clean out the air ducts would mean touching all those magazines, & I just can’t do that!
