The HVAC technician had just entered the building from outside.
He was explaining to me how much it would cost to maintain the air conditioning unit.
He recommended that my colleague and I replace the air conditioning unit. It would cost approximately $1000 more but would last at least fifteen years instead of a few weeks. He did not believe the air conditioner would survive the summer heat. I was apprehensive about paying the bill for the maintenance call, and I had not considered what would occur if the air conditioning equipment required repairs. I asked him what would happen if I was unable to pay for the HVAC repair. He sat there and gazed intently into my eyes. He advised me to contact the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning company and request a payment plan. He knew they did them, but he didn’t know if it was based on income, credit, or simply because I was a good buyer of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning business. He was not the person who made the loans, rather, he was the owner of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning business. As soon as he left, I thanked him for the information and picked up my phone. I was unsure of how to initiate this conversation despite the fact that I had no reason to be anxious. Before leaving the driveway, the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning specialist informed the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning business of the situation and my needs. The billing secretary asked me a number of questions and stated that she would email the documents for my approval. I had two years to pay for the new air conditioner with no interest charged.
