Snakes are the one thing I cannot manage.
As long as it moves out of my walking path, I’m fine.
I do not want to be cornered by one, nor do I want one in the furnace room of someone else. This occurred about a week ago. I was required to visit a farm to inspect their furnace. I had been there before, and I always enjoyed conversing with my husband. When I arrived, he greeted me with a handshake and a smile. He informed me that I knew the location of the furnace and that I could meet him in the barn when I was finished. An hour later, I heard him enter the kitchen and call my name, despite the fact that I was immobile. As I worked on the furnace, a snake wrapped itself around my legs, immobilizing me. I was too terrified to speak because it was looking up at me. The farmer descended the stairs and observed me kneeling by the furnace. As he approached, he signaled for me to remain still and said he would handle the snake. He wore thick gloves and approached me slowly while wearing them. After seizing the snake by the head, he slowly unwrapped it from my leg and then removed it from the room. He inquired whether the furnace was complete, and I nodded. I followed him up the stairs, and he also directed me to the restroom. He stated that I appeared to require some cold water for my face. The fact that the snake was nonpoisonous did not prevent it from terrifying me, however.
