My sister can remember how our dad always had stuff inside the breast pocket of his shirt.
The guy always, always, always wore a shirt that had some sort of pocket on it.
And in that little pocket there were so many different items. Definitely a toothpick and his to do list. Sometimes, maybe even a piece of gum or a mint for us. These afternoons, my sister is now echoing his to do list and to her residential Heating and A/C chores are on the list. Okay, so she doesn’t wear any sort of shirt that has a breast pocket much. My sister works from home so she wears golf shirts and shorts inside the heat pump of her lake house. The tidy golf shirts are nice enough if my sister has to jump into an online meeting. And nobody can see her shorts. In the Summer, this is necessary attire because it gets so dang hot down here. For sure, my sister didn’t relocate here for the heat. But if she has to deal with the heat of a Summer for the other 8 months, that’s a deal she’ll continue to make. Yet, my sister has to get better at being consistent with her Heating and A/C chores. And that’s why she has instituted the dad to-do list in her life. Her to-do list is on her iPhone though. And it’s a talking list because she has alarms that let her know when it’s time for her to do a certain thing. Once a month, my sister hears it talking to her to remind her that she has to change the air filter. Now she just needs to change the alarm sound to our dad’s voice and she’ll be all set.
