I never thought what would happen to the fish if we didn’t have air conditioning. I thought they would be fine, because they don’t have constant temperatures in the wild. I woke up one morning, and the air conditioning wasn’t working. The water in my fish tank had risen to 85 degrees, and there was a massive kill off of my fish. I had two fish left out of eight. I wasn’t sure if it was the hot water, or just something wrong in the fish tank, but I was upset. I called the HVAC company and told them my fish were dead, and I had no air conditioning. I had to have air conditioning, or I would lose my last two fish. The woman on the phone asked me if I was all right. If the fish tank had warmed up so high the fish had died, I could be suffering from heat stroke or something else that could be worse. I had a headache, but I wasn’t sick. I just wanted an HVAC technician to come to the house and fix the air conditioning unit. I’m not sure if it was a hysterical plea to keep my last two fish healthy. Maybe she reacted as she did because she thought I was suffering from the heat. She told me she would send an HVAC tech to the house immediately. I didn’t realize I would need to pay extra for an emergency HVAC call until I saw the bill. They had my air conditioning running again, and my house was comfortable. As far as the fish goes; the heater had malfunctioned, and all of my fish were electrocuted, and it had nothing to do with the temperature in the fish tank, or the air conditioning.
