I refused to spend money for the cooling system. (It was a refurbished)

Last month, I obtained a brand new cooling system unit, and had it installed.

The HVAC supplier asked if I was interested in a repair and repair agreement.

I was hesitant at first because it had a full warranty, however when he said it covered the repair fees for all my annual work, it would save me money for the next two years. I agreed and put the cost in with my payment plan. Six months later, I was using the repair and repair plan for the first time. My cooling system component was not working. The HVAC professional arrived and asked me why I obtained a used cooling system unit. I told him it wasn’t used. I had the cooling system component installed six months earlier. It was brand new, and I showed him the sales receipt. He showed me the tag on the inside of the AC unit. It clearly stated it was a refurbished AC unit. He said if people could not afford the AC unit, or it was only slightly used, the AC component would be cleaned and maintained, and sold as a refurbished item. It didn’t mean there was anything wrong with it, however it wasn’t covered under the warranty. I called the HVAC supplier and told them what the HVAC professional said. They assured me it was a brand new unit, until I put the HVAC tech on the line. They backed off, and said they would upgrade. I wasn’t going to spend money for the cooling system until I had a new one resting in its locale.
