I knew that I was going to barely make it to the task, even if I moved quickly.
Every afternoon when all of the suppliers shut down for the afternoon, traffic is an absolute nightmare… Around 4:00, the roads are packed with people & it is impossible to go anywhere quickly, but downtown is of course the worst locale to be in the afternoon! Everyone is leaving the buildings & heading toward the interstate! It’s best to be heading in the opposite direction while in this time of the afternoon. Yesterday I had a furnace repair task at 5:00 in the afternoon. It was my last task of the afternoon & I was already on the other side of town. I knew that I was going to barely make it to the task, even if I moved quickly. I got onto the interstate & traffic was moving quickly until an accident occurred, then when the accident occurred, traffic slowed down to a crawl. I was stuck a half mile behind the part where the accident was located. It took almost an hour for the crews to wash things up & half of that time I was sitting there waiting… The lady for the furnace repair was infuriated & frustrated that I didn’t get to her residence until 5:30, but there was nothing that I could do about the traffic & the accident. I did my best to make it to the appointment on time… Hopefully the traffic will not be this bad once they get the up-to-date lanes of traffic finished… Right now we have 3 east & 3 west bound lanes, but at the beginning of the year, we will have five on each side.
