AC maintenance after purchasing a current home

I moved to Jacksonville, FL, to accept a job promotion.

  • I was cheerful by the option to relocate to such a appealing area, jacksonville offers red skies, moderate sunshine, palm trees and all the chances of waterfront.

While my job included a significant bump in pay, the local real estate is severely high-priced. I ended up purchasing a fixer-upper home. The apartment inspection turned up a long list of necessary repairs and substitutes. The apartment needed a current roof and current windows. The electric wires weren’t up to code and the plumbing was a mess. I was glad with the location and structure of the house. The apartment inspection failed to reveal the troubles with the central a/c and ductwork. It wasn’t until the summer time weather arrived that I realized the cooling system was faulty. It barely supplied any air at all. The a/c ran non stop and couldn’t bring the indoor temperature down to a comfortable level; Every time it started up, it made a horrible screeching noise. The musty odor offered me an instant headache. I assumed I’d need to purchase a current a/c and was worried about the expense. The Heating and A/C worker I hired for maintenance took the a/c apart and found that a lack of common maintenance was to blame. He substituted many parts, recharged the refrigerant, cleaned the coils and tightened electrical wires. He also offered a complete duct sealing and cleaning. The maintenance was high-priced however not as costly as a current system. The worker assured me that the a/c should deliver reliable operation for quite a few more years.
