It hasn’t been easy for me living through all of this technology revolution.
For sure, being in my late fifties has something to do with it.
But I also know plenty of people my age who thrive on getting the latest tech gadget, perhaps my occupation has had something to do with my resistance to technology. I do not work in a extravagant office with perfect commercial HVAC. In fact, I do not work inside the air conditioner at all. I started a business out of nothing when I was just twenty years old. I made it two years inside a dorm room with radiant heating during college before I dropped out. I just could not understand spending money on an education that I did not honestly have a passion for. So out of necessity, I got out of the air conditioner & started mowing sods. Before long, I had a whole maintenance outfit & it grew from there. I ended up learning about landscaping & getting credentialed when it comes to commercial landscaping. And that is what I’ve been doing my whole career. But things are slowing down now for me. I have really capable people running the business so I’m inside the air conditioner of my home a lot more of the afternoon. As a sort of present, my daughter offered me a smart thermostat. Initially, I was going to re-gift it to somebody else. But then I got to thinking that perhaps this new HVAC technology could honestly work for me. I’m so blissful I had that smart thermostat installed by the HVAC professionals, not only is it super convenient not to have to worry about the heating & cooling in my home any longer. But that smart thermostat is saving me a bunch of money as well.
