Until our partner purchased myself and others a membership at the gym, I handled our workouts at home, then i was enjoyable with our limited selection of fitness gear and rather cramped space. I felt enjoyable about our exercise routine! My partner gifted myself and others with the membership for our birthday. It was particularly thoughtful because I prioritize our health and fitness. I doubted I’d want to continue the membership after the year was up, but was determined to make the most of it. My first visit to the gym totally changed our mind. I was amazed by the selection of machines and equipment… With so much opportunity, I was able to elevate our level of fitness. It became much easier to target odd muscle groups, build strength and burn more calories. I had access to rows of the odd types of stationary bikes, rowing machines, treadmills, stair-steppers and ellipticals. I could use machines to concentrate on our biceps, triceps, abdominal muscles, outer thighs, inner thighs and more. Instead of making do with a set of free weights, I can use kettlebells, resistance bands, battle ropes or medicine balls, then the gym is open 24/7 and includes amenities such as a steam room, overheated tub and tanning. I can sign up for fitness classes such as yoga, pilates, HIT and spin. I’ve took care of our gym membership for nearly multiple years. While the fees have risen a bit over the years, I believe I’m getting our cash’s worth. There is no way I could afford to buy such a wide range of equipment.

When it came time to remove the woodstove in our house he did it all himself! He removed the brick pad and patched up our flooring.

He got rid of the pipe and patched the ceiling, the only thing he did not do was remove the stack on the roof that made the oil furnace functional; Every one of us figured the stack wasn’t hurting anything being there. Well it not only looked ugly and served no purpose, but it started to leak… Our roof had never leaked before until the wood stove was gone. Then right where the pipe was vented water started coming through, then it started as a few drops every now and then while in a rainstorm. Then it turned into us needing a bin to put under the spot, then my hubby climbed up on our roof several times attempting to repair the issue. He used basically cement to patch everything. He tried caulk. He tried tar; Nope, nothing fixed our issue. Every one of us realized that the stack needed to be removed to access where the damage was. That meant hiring out professional roofers, then finding a local roofing company wasn’t hard and it wasn’t extravagant either. The residential roofing company was enjoyable to toil with. They gave us an upfront cost and didn’t change it after the job was done. They removed the stack and patched that leak within a afternoon. My hubby and I haven’t had a leak in the ceiling since. It is really nice no longer needing a bin in the family room on the off opportunity the rain is coming in.

Once my husband and I retired, we no longer wanted to deal with the long winter in the north.

To avoid the sub zero temperatures, bitter windchill and endless amounts of snow, we bought a second house down south.

We now enjoy the best of the weather in each location. He and I live in the original house up north from the beginning of May until the end of October. We miss out on the high heat and humidity down south. While there are a lot of advantages to splitting our time between two residences, there are also some unique challenges. We didn’t want to rely on neighbors to keep an eye on the houses for us. The ideal solution was to install a home security system for each residence. The cost was reasonable and the relief is huge. The system includes surveillance cameras that provide real-time footage of all exterior angles. Because we can access the images through an app on our smartphones, we always know exactly what’s going on. Plus, we receive alerts when someone enters the perimeter. We can see who is standing on our front steps and even converse with them. Automated locks allow us to let in repairmen or delivery men, even if we’re hundreds of miles away.

I work as a consultant within the private school system.

I travel a lot for work both in the state that I live in as well as out of town.

The schools are scattered all over the country so at any given time, I could be away for work. Typically, my assignments require that I am gone for 6 or more weeks. And while that is a long time to be away from home, I have grown used to it. Especially now that I have been using corporate housing instead of hotels. I remember when I first began to travel, and I stayed in hotel suites for weeks at a time. It was so painful not being able to cook or eat the things I wanted to because the hotels didn’t have the necessary amenities. I switched from hotels after meeting another consultant at a conference who told me about her corporate apartment and how much she loved it. That day my entire life changed and traveling became so much better. I began to stay in corporate apartments and fell in love with them. Not only did these apartments have the same amenities as a hotel that include a gym, office space, pool, and more, but they were also cheaper than staying in a hotel. Additionally, the apartments have fully stocked kitchens, so I was able to cook my meal and they have enough room for me to entertain family and friends without feeling like we are cramped in a small space. One thing’s for sure, when I travel for work, I will skip the hotel and opt for a corporate apartment instead.

I live in an area where we are prone to storms and hurricanes.

The rainy season usually lasts from May to October and during that time of the year, we will see some heavy downpours.

And of course, with rain, some people might experience flooding. In addition to rain, some areas will get hit with tornadoes and most of the state is prone to hurricanes. So, you can only imagine how hectic things must be during the rainy season. We have to make sure that we are always ready just in case we are faced with a disaster. And speaking of disasters, about 6 weeks ago, we had a major hurricane pass through the state and unfortunately many people lost everything they had. And if they didn’t lose it all, they suffered a lot of flood damage, which means they would need to hire a flood cleaning service especially if they can’t remove the debris themselves. Flood cleaning services are busy during this time of year because of all the rain that we get. And of course, if we get a hurricane they are in more of a demand. I got talked into allowing someone to do their business advertising on my car.

I was told the vinyl wrapping wouldn’t be much more than having a few vinyl sides placed on my door and maybe a vinyl wrap on my bumper.

I talked to my husband, and he told me it was my car, but to make sure I got everything in writing before the vinyl wrapping was installed. I got a contract from the business that wanted the advertising done, and it said I had to keep it on the car for a minimum of three months, once the vinyl wrapping was installed. I was told which auto customization shop to take my car to, and I got an advanced payment for the advertising. Even before I pulled my car out of the auto customization shop, I was loathing the vinyl wrapping. The wrapping encompassed my entire car, and it was hideous. I refused to drive the car anywhere I would be seen and recognized. I didn’t want people to know it was me that was driving the car. The vinyl wrapping was on my windows, over the car, and it glowed in the dark. I felt like a beacon that could be seen from outer space, advertising for an alien invasion. I knew it probably wasn’t that bad, but I felt conspicuous with all this writing on my car, advertising some new product that I would never consider using. I kept the car parked in the garage most of the time, because I wouldn’t drive it when my family was with me. I couldn’t wait for the three months to be over.
