One For All Air Conditioning

I had been wanting a humidifier for quite some time, but I am an extreme procrastinator.

On top of being a procrastinator, I do not like to spend money.

I am definitely the saver in my husband and my relationship. My husband loves to spend money, and I love to save. I guess we balance each other out. Before I met my husband, I had a problem with saving and saving and never buying what I wanted. I would find something that I really wanted or even needed, and I would save up for it, but once I got the money, I still would not buy it. It bugged me to buy anything that cost more than twenty dollars. I know that sounds silly, but that is just the way that I think. I had been saving up for a humidifier for over two months, and I had more than enough money, but I still had not bought it. My husband kept asking me if I had bought it yet, and I had to tell him that I hadn’t. He knew how much I wanted a humidifier for our bedroom. I had been having trouble with getting sick more often than usual, and I knew that having a humidifier in our bedroom would help. At the end of last week, my husband finally told me that he would not eat until I went and bought the humidifier. He knows how much I love to feed him, so he knew that by saying he wouldn’t eat, it would make me buy the humidifier. It worked, and I am so glad that he did that.

I just got a new heater, and I am overly excited about it.

My husband thinks it is hilarious how excited I got over getting a new heater.

It is sort of ridiculous, but I am that person. I would rather be overly excited about something small than be a grump all the time. I am a gift kind of person, so whether I get a new car or a candy bar, I am super excited about it. My husband knows that I am that way, and that is why he surprised me with a new heater instead of just taking me with him to buy one. It was a really chilly night when brought home the heater, so it was quite perfect. I had been wanting a heater for my living room for quite some time because it gets chilly in there during the winter months. Both my husband and I spend quite a bit of time in the living room, especially during the evenings, and I did not like being cold. I don’t think that it really bothered my husband because he never said anything about it. He just listened to me complain about being cold all of the time. The heater that he bought me is actually a fireplace, and it makes the room feel so cozy. It does not have real flames since it is electric, but I still like it. I thought that I would not like something that had fake flames because I was afraid that it would look tacky, but I actually really like it. I would not trade it for a “real” fireplace anyday. It is a whole lot less work than a real fireplace would be.

I grew up down south with my family, and we never did any traveling. The furthest that we ever traveled was to my grandparents house which was two hours west of our home. I cannot believe it, but I truly never traveled outside of our state until I was twenty-two years old. I went to a small community college near my house, and the first time I traveled out of state was with an old roommate. I never thought that I would end up living somewhere else, but life has a way of surprising you. I met a wonderful guy about three years ago, and we began dating. Long story short, we got married and moved up north. It is so different here. The climate is so much cooler and drier. I never had dry skin when I lived down south, and I guess that is because it was so humid almost year round. We had dehumidifiers running all the time in our home and at our school. I honestly had never even heard of a humidifier until I moved up north. My husband had lived up north for part of his childhood, so he knew that we would need a humidifier. He mentioned it to me when we first moved North, but I totally forgot about it. I forgot about it until Winter hit us. Winter here is unlike any Winter I have ever experienced. It is so cold, and there is so much snow. Not to mention it gets extremely dry as well. I decided to buy a humidifier within just the first couple weeks of Winter. I had had enough of the dryness already.

I love my church family.

They are truly some of the most wonderful people on the planet.

The pastor is a really humble and kind man. We have become quite close friends with his family. We are in need of a new church building soon though. The church has been growing immensely which is a blessing, but we are definitely running out of room, and it often seems very crowded on Sundays. We have done a little work to the building, and we may just try and expand the building that we have to accommodate more people. One of the projects that we have wanted to do for a few months now is renovate the gymnasium. It is a very old gym, and it does not have proper insulation. It gets really cold during the winter months, and it gets really hot during the summer months. We would like to instal air conditioning and heat in the gym, but it is no use if there is little to no insulation. For right now, we are using a couple of dehumidifiers during the summertime to try and keep the floors dry, and during the winter months, we either do not use the gym, or we try to heat it with a couple of large kerosene heaters for special occasions. It is the middle of July right now, and we have realized that we will need a couple more dehumidifiers for this summer. It is much more humid than usual, and the floors in the gym are quite slick. We already had one basketball player fall and injure himself on the slick floor.

I love to workout.

• Well, I love the results of working out.

I feel so much better when I workout on a regular basis. My husband was definitely not into working out when we first started dating. I told him how much I love to go to the gym, and he literally laughed at me. He thought that I was joking, but he later found out that I was not joking. I asked him to start going to the gym with me, and he did. He ended up really liking it, and he has been working out ever since. We decided that we wanted to build our own gym at home. It would save us a lot of money in the long run, and it would also be more convenient for us. At first, we thought that it would be fine to not have air conditioning in our at home gym. We thought that since it is good to sweat when you workout that not having air conditioning would benefit us a lot. We worked out for the first time in our home gym in March. It was wonderful. We worked up a nice sweat, but we were fine. We were convinced that having air conditioning in the gym was unnecessary. Once May came around, and the weather started warming up, we started to regret our decision to not put air conditioning in the gym. By the time June came, we decided that we were definitely wrong about not needing air conditioning, so we bought a small window unit to put in the gym. I am so thankful that we ended up installing an air conditioner.

I have never loved my job, but at the same time, I do not think that I should complain about it.

It is hard work but good pay, and my coworkers are amazing.

My husband and I actually work for the same company, and we have been working there for over twenty-five years together. We met at work which is quite interesting, but it is sort of unique as well. The building that we work in is sort of the factory part of the business. There have been many improvements throughout the years as far as safety goes. My husband has been very concerned with the pollution that the factory is setting off, and also about the pollution that we as employees breathe in every single day. I have never really thought it to be a big deal, but deep inside, I know that he is probably right. Pollution is certainly a big issue especially if you are exposed to certain pollutants for many years. After almost twenty-five years of being with this company, they finally decided to do something about the pollution concerns. The company voted to have an air purification system installed throughout our entire building which was awesome. We have had the air purifier installed for about three months now, and I can already tell that there is a difference in the cleanliness of the air. My husband is a little more skeptical, and he said he is not sure if he notices a difference yet. He is sure that it will do something though. I honestly think that it is just nice to see that the company cares about keeping their employees safe.

My sweet parents were married for fifty years before my mother passed away of cancer last year.

It was really hard on my dad, and he has not yet been able to be his usual self.

I am not sure if it is depression or just mourning. I try to go over to his house at least once a day to make sure he is doing okay and to make him a decent meal. I know he really appreciates the company as well. I have tried to convince him to move in with my husband and me, but he is not ready for that yet. I think that would make him feel like he is dependent on us. I am a little nervous for him because Winter has just hit us, and his furnace is not doing so well. It is not like my dad to just sit around while something needs to be fixed. He could certainly fix the furnace if he had the motivation to, but he does not. My poor husband does not know much about furnaces, so he is having trouble figuring out the problem. He has tried to ask my dad for advice about the furnace, but my dad just cuts him off and says that there is nothing wrong with the furnace. I went over to his house the other day, and it was freezing in there. I looked at the thermostat, and it was only fifty-five degrees in the house even though the thermostat was set for seventy-five degrees. My dad did not seem to even notice. I am just praying that we can either get him a new furnace soon or find someone to repair the furnace that is in his house now.
