I hate to leave my girlfriend alone at home when I have to go away for a couple of days. I know that she doesn’t like living all the way out here in the country. We used to live in the city and my girlfriend had her friends really close. When I had to go somewhere for work, she always had someone close by in an emergency. When we decided to buy a house, I knew that we could not stay in the city. Prices on real estate were way too high for the two of us to be able to afford anything with a yard. My girlfriend loves living in the country, but she gets scared and lonely when I have to leave for a few days. Last week I had a job down south and I had to leave for the whole week. During the week that I was gone, my girlfriend invited her sister to hang out at our house. They were having a really good time in the house until there was a problem with the home air conditioner. The air conditioner in our home needed to be replaced. My girlfriend called me while I was away. She told me the cost to have the air conditioning system replaced. I really wanted to have an additional estimate and diagnostic check on the machine, but my girlfriend did not want to wait until I came home to fix the air conditioner.

It seems like we have a summer rainstorm every afternoon around the same exact time. The moisture and humidity fill the clouds and they have to release some of that moisture. It rained this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On Wednesday I was supposed to help my coworker with a rooftop AC repair. It got quite cold when it started raining and I was happy that my coworker and I weren’t on the roof trying to avoid getting soaked.

Every afternoon when all of the businesses shut down for the day, traffic is an absolute nightmare. Around 4:00, the roads are packed with people and it is impossible to go anywhere quickly. Downtown is of course the worst place to be in the afternoon. Everyone is leaving the buildings and heading toward the interstate. It’s best to be heading in the opposite direction during this time of the day. Yesterday I had a furnace repair job at 5:00 in the afternoon. It was my last job of the day and I was already on the other side of town. I knew that I was going to barely make it to the job, even if I moved quickly. I got onto the interstate and traffic was moving quickly until an accident occurred. When the accident occurred, traffic slowed down to a crawl. I was stuck a half mile behind the area where the accident was located. It took almost an hour for the crews to clean things up and half of that time I was sitting there waiting. The lady for the furnace repair was annoyed and aggravated that I didn’t get to her residence until 5:30, but there was nothing that I could do about the traffic and the accident. I did my best to make it to the appointment on time. Hopefully the traffic won’t be this bad once they get the new lanes of traffic finished. Right now we have 3 east and 3 west bound lanes, but at the beginning of the year, we will have five on each side.

When I go to any kind of indoor event I am always conscious of the heating and cooling system and whether or not the place seems to have good indoor air quality.
